98 Chevy Malibu – Lights dim with brakes, large voltage drops?

Started a few months ago. While car is running the brake lights will cause large voltage drops for a split second. It gets worse the longer the interval between brakes (so city driving isn’t bad, interstate it’s very noticeable). Headlights and interior lights dim, on big drops the radio cuts out for a second and the airbag light comes on. Turn signal with accessories on will cause dash light to blink with signal too.

I have been an electrician for a long time and worked on a lot of cars but this is a new one for me. My best guess would be the alternator as well its quick and easy to have tested. Beyoned that my only guess is that there may be a short in your wiring somewhere in the brake system maybe for the abs but thats just a complete guess. Check the alternator out but this may be a repair shop deal if thats not it.
