About
I took my first art class on a whim when I was a young teenager. When I graduated high school, I decided to take a couple more art classes. The more lost I became in life, trying to find purpose, jumping from one major and one town to another, the more I created. It took several years, but I finally saw in my art what I was searching for in the everyday - substance, an essence and way to give meaning to the mundane.
I believe art should have meaning. It should be representative, even if only a moment in time or a piece of object. Whether photorealistic or expressive, everything created has substance from it's subtle conception. I strive to capture an impression of the real around me, of my own experience. A clip of the world, an essence of life.
In relation to my portrait photography, I hold the same philosophy. Photos have meaning, they are what we share and leave behind. Everyone should have nice family or business pictures, without sacrificing extreme finances. Iād love to capture memories for you.
I am formally trained, and have also taught myself a variety of skills and techniques.
